Air Hose Field Replacement Instructions

Unpressurized Air Cylinder

Pressurized Air Cylinder

The pressure gauge mounted on the high-pressure regulator of the air cylinder is for reference only.

WARNING

Bleed the pressurized air from the cylinder prior to removing the hose assembly.

To bleed the air cylinder remove the mouthpiece cover (if installed) and press the purge valve button on the 2nd stage regulator until the pressure gauge reads 0 (zero) or air stops escaping. It is now safe to proceed with removing the air hose.

On the 2nd stage regulator (mouthpiece) end of the hose use a sharp object to lift up the end of the snap ring from the hose stem.

Unwind the snap ring from the hose stem and set it aside.

Carefully remove the air hose banjo fitting from the hose stem and set aside the mouthpiece. Inspect the o-rings on the stem to insure they are not damaged.

At the cylinder mounted high-pressure (1st stage) regulator end of the hose use a 3/16 inch Allen (Hexagonal) wrench to remove the hose stem.

Remove the hose stem and stem spacer from the high-pressure regulator. Carefully remove the air hose banjo fitting from the hose stem.

Inspect the o-rings on the stem to insure they are not damaged. Set aside the hose for return to LSC.

Installation of the replacement hose

NOTE

The replacement hose has gray color heat shrink sleeves on both ends.

On the high-pressure regulator end of the hose carefully insert the hose stem into the air hose banjo fitting, then install the stem spacer.

Carefully align the stem threads and attach the air hose to the high-pressure regulator using a 3/16 inch Allen wrench.

Torque the hose stem to 65 in-lb (75 cm-kg).

In the above photographs observe the orientation of the mouthpiece and hose stem relative to the air hose and high-pressure regulator attached to the cylinder. Carefully install the air hose banjo fitting to the mouthpiece hose stem as shown.

Start the leading end of the snap ring into the groove of the hose stem. Wind the snap ring around the stem groove until the snap ring is fully seated and the banjo fitting is held securely in place. End of Air Hose Field Replacement Instructions.

Important

Refill the air cylinder as per the Owner’s Manual and check for leaks. Please return the removed hose(s) to LSC for accountability purposes to the address below, via traceable means, freight prepaid.
