Introducing the Trident Hoist Operator Harness
It seemed like a straightforward request: Can you make a harness specifically for hoist operators?
We thought so, too—until we began asking questions and gathering input from professionals who use hoisting harnesses every day across a wide range of aircraft, missions, and operating environments.
After 18 months of development, one lesson became clear: the more input you solicit, the longer the list of requested features becomes. Eventually, every design decision had to return to the three principles that guide the equipment we manufacture at Lifesaving Systems:

Designed Around the Hoist Operator
The Trident features a vest-style configuration with integrated MOLLE panels on the waist and chest, providing convenient storage options for signaling, survival, and mission-essential equipment.

- Compatibility with the low-profile Triton Series inflatable flotation vest
- A step-free design for easier donning and doffing
The optional Triton Series flotation vest provides 35 pounds of buoyancy in a low-profile, field-packable design. Its mini-buckle attachment system allows the flotation assembly to be installed or removed easily based on mission requirements, including over-water operations.
Another frequent request from operators was the ability to put on and remove the harness without stepping into or through it. We listened—and incorporated that capability into the final design.
